We suggest you make your reservations at a month or more prior to arrival. If you know your flights, you can make them at this time. Pine Island Taxi does have car seats for small children. During peak season (Feb – May), we suggest you make your reservations as far in advance as possible.
UBER will work from the airport, but availability from Pine Island to the Airport is very limited. We would recommend Pine Island Taxi from Pine Island to the Airport as a minimum.
Water Taxi: Reservations are required!
North Captiva Island is only accessible by boat or private aircraft.

From the north on I-75 (Tampa) – Take I-75 south to exit 161 (Jones Loop Rd ) Make a right at the light at the end of the ramp. Stay on this road. As you cross hwy 41 the road becomes Burnt Store Rd. About 20 – 30 minutes look for Pine Island Rd. At the light turn right onto Pine Island Rd. Stay on Pine Island Rd through Matlacha for approx 15 minutes to the first and only stop sign. Make a “right” onto Stringfellow Rd. About 4 miles on the left is Pineland Road. Make a left onto Pineland Road. Follow the twisty road until you see the Tarpon lodge(and the gulf) on the left and Safe Harbor marina is right past the Tarpon Lodge on the left. If before 5PM, check into the office.
From the south on I-75 (Naples) – Take I-75 north to exit 136 towards Ft Myers/Cape Coral. At light turn left onto Colonial Blvd. Stay on Colonial towards Cape Coral and continue over the bridge. Colonial becomes Veterans Pkwy after you cross bridge. Continue on Veterans Pkwy for 9.8 miles to Pine Island Rd. At the light turn left onto Pine Island Rd. Stay on Pine Island Rd through Matlacha for approximately 15 minutes to the first and only stop sign. Make a “right” onto Stringfellow Rd. About 4 miles on the left is Pineland Road. From the Southwest Regional Airport (Ft Myers) – Follow the signs when exiting the airport to I-75 North towards Tampa. Take I-75 north to exit 136 towards Ft Myers/Cape Coral. Reservations are required for all water taxi services. During the peak seasons you should set up your water taxi arrival and departure times as early as possible. This will help you secure your desired time for arrival and departure to the island. There are two types of water taxi services, scheduled and private charters.

Directions to Safe Harbor (Formerly Pineland Marina). They are located at 13921 Waterfront Drive in Pineland Florida. From 1-75 or US 41, head west on State Road 78, then take a right on State Road 767 in Pine Island Center. Next, take a left on Pineland Road. This will eventually turn into Waterfront Drive and you’ll see us on the left, nestled on the shores of Pine Island Sound. If you have any questions while traveling, the number at the marina is (239)283-3593. Visit their website for additional information at http://www.pinelandmarina.com. There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance from the marina. The name of this restaurant is the Tarpon Lodge. Menus are located on the Pineland Marina website. There is secure parking at the marina. Please check with the marina for current parking rates.
Island Girl Charters is your gateway to North Captiva Island, providing ferry service every other hour between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. You can call 239-633-8142. Private charters are available as well.
