Airport Access

Ft Myers (RSW) – most frequently utilized (36 miles to marina)
Tampa (TPA) – you will need to rent a car (139 miles)
Sarasota (SRQ) – you will need to rent a car (90 miles)
Port Charlotte (PGD) – Rent a car (40 Miles)

Airport Transportation

We suggest you make your reservations at a month or more prior to arrival.  If you know your flights, you can make them at this time.  Pine Island Taxi does have car seats for small children. During peak season (Feb – May), we suggest you make your reservations as far in advance as possible.

UBER will work from the airport, but availability from Pine Island to the Airport is very limited.   We would recommend Pine Island Taxi from Pine Island to the Airport as a minimum.

North Captiva Island is only accessible by boat or private aircraft.

Utilize your favorite navigation app to the address above.  Safe Harbor marina is right past the Tarpon Lodge on the left.  If before 5PM, check into the office.

Reservations are required for all water taxi services. During the peak seasons you should set up your water taxi arrival and departure times as early as possible. This will help you secure your desired time for arrival and departure to the island. There are two types of water taxi services, scheduled and private charters.

There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance from the marina. The name of this restaurant is the Tarpon Lodge.  There is secure parking at the marina. Please check with the marina for current parking rates.

You can have a private water taxi with a captain or rent a boat to enjoy and use it for your water taxi.  Water Taxi and Tours from Pine Island leave right from the Commercial Marina – Fisherman’s Coop on 6001 Maria Dr., St. James City, FL 33956  Tours and Taxis must be scheduled ahead of time.
