Complete Relaxation and Unbelievable Sunsets

Our family of four just returned from our week long stay at Serendipity in North Captiva. We were a little nervous to stay on an island where there is very little in the way of dining options or groceries, but we also wanted to do something a little different and see a place we’ve never seen before. Sarah, the booking agent, was very helpful with suggestions of all that we would need to arrange to make our travel go smoothly. We arranged for a private taxi from Pine Island Taxi and they were there waiting for us at the Ft. Myers airport. Sean was our driver and he was so patient as he waited for us to get our baggage during a lightning storm, which caused a long delay. We ordered our groceries from Publix and the taxi took us to pick them up, and then dropped us at the marina where a private boat from Boats and Fun was waiting to take us to the island. Upon arrival, which was about 8 pm, Duncan met us and took us to our home, helped unload luggage and showed us around the place. The home is very nicely updated, clean and has a well-equipped kitchen. There are also games and puzzles for the rainy days. Our favorite part of this home was the crows nest at the top which has an incredible 360 degree view of the island. There’s loungers and seating up there and our whole family enjoyed time there during the days, and watched the sunset almost every night. The sunsets there are spectacular! The home has wonderful seating all through the house and really comfortable beds, as well. While we do prefer a location with more restaurant choices, we found the food that was available to be quite good, and the servers were very friendly. We ended up needing to get more groceries in the middle of the week, but Tortuga property managers took care of this with ease. We also had them order fresh seafood for us one evening and it was delicious! I was able to relax so much there that I didn’t mind cooking a few meals in the evenings. I would recommend buying more groceries than you think you’ll need and meal planning ahead of time. Our daughters are 16 and 20 and we so enjoyed time with them with not much to distract us. We enjoyed walking the beach, swimming in the pool and watching sunsets. The golf carts were a nice touch too. Our girls drove them to the North Captiva pool for lunch one day, and enjoyed some sister time. It was a very relaxing week!

We had a great time with our 4 adult/3 kiddos family vacation. Serendipity had everything we needed and was a beautiful home to spend our time in. The screened in decks, swimming pool and short walk (50 steps) to the beach were just the tip of the iceberg. The property managers Duncan and Laurie were extremely helpful especially when we needed help to get some prescription medicine from the mainland. Easily a 5 star rental home. Book it quick. We can’t wait to come back again.

We really enjoyed our week out there. Our kids kept saying that their favorite part of the vacation was the house. Even though it rained one of the days we still had a lot to do since the house has a pool, ping pong and games. And the team that manages the house were great to work with. I would stay there again for sure!

We had the pleasure of calling Serendipity "home" for the last month and HOME is exactly what it felt like! Everything about the experience was top notch! The property is well maintained and stocked with everything you would ever need for a great trip for families, couples or friends. The screened in pool is perfect and was a sanctuary between trips to the beach. The crows nest has great furniture to lounge with coffee at sunrise or cocktails for sunset...there is not a better spot on NCI. Bob & Denise have assembled a great team to make your visit trouble free! For booking - Sarah is very responsive and right on top of things, great to deal with. The Tortuga team that manages the property on island was fantastic to work with. Duncan, Laurie, Sean & Ally made sure our stay exceeded all expectations. Checkin & out, followup, supplies, groceries, pool service all was fantastic. As in most properties things can break...two items needed fixed, both taken care of in a matter of hours not days or weeks. The home owners were very attentive as well...Thank you Bob & Denise for caring about your guests and checking in to be sure all is good. You have gone above and beyond in having the house stocked for guests needs. The kitchen has everything you could ever need - Keurig, crockpot, every possible baking pan & dish, storage containers- you name it! Margarita machine and bar fridge are a great added feature. Tennis equipment, pool toys, pool loungers, ping pong, games, books and puzzles it is all here for the toddlers to the elders - we had 2 through 80 over the course of our stay. Others have detailed the island and what to expect so we will simply state...to relax and unwind there is no better place. Our only mistake...we brought far too many clothes with us- even for a month...pack light and if needed throw a load in the washer and dryer- all laundry supplies included as well! This was our third stay in this house and we are already looking forward to next year as we have booked for a month again! You can't go wrong here! Book early and book often - we are! Thanks! R & D
